GOODBYE 2008, HELLO 2012

Steve White, is now firmly back in the UK, following a trip to Les Sables d’Olonne to collect his trophy for his eighth position finish in the recent Vendee Globe. This draws a line under this Vendee Globe and Steve and his team are working towards finding a sponsor for the next Vendee Globe in 2012, and the programme of races leading up to it.

Steve’s 2009 race calendar includes the following events…

August
The Fastnet race – the oldest Ocean yacht race in the world and a classic event in the racing calendar.

Archipelago Raid – a fantastic endurance event with a high calibre of entrants, which have included Dame Ellen MacArthur and Conrad Humphreys.

November
Transat Jaques Vabre – Following the Trade wind route from Le’Havre, for the first time finishing in Cost Rica – following the old ‘coffee route’

We need a sponsor now in order to take part in these races and pursue the programme through to the Vendee Globe in 2012”, said Steve “The publicity generated, even over the last two weeks, would have been sufficient to have repaid a substantial sponsorship many times over. However, after the 2008 prize giving, I am now looking forward to the 2012 Vendee Globe, but more simply, I just want to get back on the water again.
